"After myself and the rest of my whole family being with this dental practice for over 30 years. I was informed in an email that my NHS Emilia has left the practice and I no longer can have an appointment with an NHS dentist here! However, I I can pay for a private dentist if I so wish!!! So my family and I no longer have a dentist to go to."
"After trying to get an NHS appointment for 4 days for a cracked tooth.I decided I would have to pay private this costing £95, having to pay before I got to the surgery. However when I got to the surgery I'd paid for an x-ray and check up,I was under the impression the money I'd paid was for my treatment left the practice feeling cheated."
"Paid £71 for someone to look in my mouth and say I needed 2 fillings. Have to save up now to have them done. £300 +. I've been with this dentist for 40 years and have had fantastic treatment, but unfortunately that seems to have come to an end. Staff are lovely and can't help the situation, but dear me what have we come to when we are forced to be in pain while we save the money for a filling. Heating, eating or dental work. Decisions decisions."
"I've always been nervous about a visit to the Dentist's but, I had some work done recently by Davia, assisted by her Dental Nurse. They, both, were fantastic, warm and welcoming, very professional and thorough. Everything was explained to me at each stage and how I was feeling was important to them both. The reception staff were also very warm and welcoming on my arrival Thank you all so much."
"I had to make an emergency appointment because a filling had fallen out, the slot I was given was for two week's time and was told the wait is because there is only one dentist left at this surgery. I arrived a few minutes early to check in and waited to be called. My time of 9:20 am came and went, I asked if I had the right time because there were a lot of staff milling around and I could hear a lot of chatting and laughing and wondered if the surgery was even open yet. I finally got called through and was asked why I was there so explained the missing filling. The dentist looked and said it could easily be cleaned and filled with white filling and started to gather materials. I felt relieved she hadn't mentioned any injections into the gums as I am very nervous about that. The assistant up to this point was in and out of the room a few times. Being as the procedure was about to start, it hadn't actually been explained to me what "cleaning the tooth" would involve so I had to ask what it was she was about to do to me and would it involve injections. The reply was in the tone of that as if I should have known I would be getting an injection! I said I was nervous about this and was the area going to be numbed first, the reply was "it doesn't need numbing because you don't feel it in the gum"! Again, the assistant was continuously in and out of the room. At this point I can feel my hands shaking and my stomach drop as clearly no care is being taken over my treatment and nothing is being done to make sure I am informed or reassured. As the dentist starts drilling, the water is filling in my mouth and I feel like I'm drowning. I asked to halt for a moment because I was getting panicked. I was told to just swallow the water, being as I could feel the gritty particles and was already feeling the drowning sensation I probably would have been sick or choked. The assistant said she would get a chair so she could see to do the suction better! As the procedure continues the assistant is continuously in and out of the room, the whole appointment felt extremely chaotic and careless with no regard to how I was feeling or how I was treated before, during or after the treatment. By the end of it I felt very shaky and upset and have been experiencing discomfort in the tooth since. Unfortunately this experience has completely disintegrated all confidence in this surgery, hence why I am not prepared to return to you for corrective treatment."
