"We booked a meal for 40 of us after getting married in Leatherhead earlier that day. We could not have had a better time or service from the team at the Penny Black - the communication with the manager ahead of time was helpful and quick, we were able to drop cakes and decorations etc off in the morning and the pre-ordered drinks were ready for our arrival. The team on that day were friendly and available for whatever we needed. HUGE thank you to the kitchen team who managed to get out 40 pre-ordered meals at the same time and all hot. This is not just your average pub - 5* 10/10 recommendation. The manager on shift that day said they didn't really do bigger groups or weddings that often but if you are reading this and looking to book a party or bigger group event in Leatherhead - Penny Black is where you need to go."
"Lovely pub, with amazing food and great selection of beers. We came here for fathers day lunch as we needed pick something up from a nearby farm, we don't live in the area and were nicely surprised by how delightful this place is."
"Cannot fault this place. The food is excellent, the drinks delicious (more on this later) the staff friendly and welcoming and the venue is pleasant. Its my go to place for a lunch time "meeting" with colleagues. Situated down at the bottom of Leatherhead High Street its a lovely little building with a decent covered outside sitting area which is great in warm weather. Their burgers are fantastic but ensure you turn up hungry as the portion control will not leave you wanting. They also serve a decent selection of ales etc im particularly partial to "Proper Job Cornish IPA" And this is one of the few pubs I've visited that serve it. Ordering online via their app is easy. The app isn't the best but they're always quick to serve and friendly and it makes your and their lives easier I guess. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended."
