"I went in here with a toddler, the owner/staff did not greet us but that's not necessarily a big issue by itself. We sat at a table and saw that the table decorations were very dusty, at the time I didn't think to take a photo but perhaps I should have. I ordered baked beans on toast for the toddler, the order was taking a long time, he started crying hysterically, I didn't want to disturb the other customers so I was trying to put him into the pushchair and leave. The order was then ready, I said that we can't stay with the toddler in this distressed state which should have been clear to see, the owner huffily said "well you ordered it, so you have to pay" so I paid without any hesitation, I was not trying to run off without paying. The owner seemed really cross at us, like she was really put out. At no point were we trying to pull a fast one, I was just trying to deal with a screaming toddler in a public place. She didn't help with the door even though we had a pushchair and the toddler was crying, instead another customer helped with the door. Usually when we go to cafes or restaurants, staff offer to help even though we don't ask and even when there's no crying. The poor experience is down to poor customer service - a welcome and a few sympathetic words would have made all the difference."
"I went here the first time yesterday, have walked past it a bunch of times and kept meaning to try it. It's got a great, calming atmosphere, cute decor, lovely vibe and music. The cafe itself has great character with a mix of country kitsch and cool and a lovely big window at the back. Really nice coffee, great milk texture (I'm a barista so I was curious what the coffee would be like) and I loved the bento box. So yummy and so much food. The miso soup was my favourite miso soup that I've tried and was so comforting on a winter day. My partner had the veggie sausage roll which he also said was great. The owner was so sweet and she was doing it all on her own! Will definitely be back. おいしい!"
"Always good strong coffee and the Japanese Fish Bento box is delicious!!! They do take away, but I'd recommend sitting in - calm and relaxing atmosphere with many quirky items/paintings. Incredibly tasteful music playing in the cafe at all times."
"Super cute little cafe with excellent food and vegan options. Loved my bento and tea!"
"I stopped by yesterday to pick up a bento box and coffee to go - both were really tasty and the owner is so kind. The hot parts were cooked fresh to order, which I loved. The box came with salmon teriyaki bites, vegetable tempura, rice, and a selection of Japanese fusion salads. Would love to see a small sized bento box on the menu as it was a lot of food for me!"
