"A traditional market place, a hub of activity, surrounded by lots of cafes and shops, well worth a visit."
"Live music, street food, market stalls, old fashioned shops and art galleries. All combined with antiques shopping and amazing independent cafes and restaurants. Add a free look around the ancient castle and a trip into the civil war past at the museum. What more could you ask of a town centre."
"Light switch on, fireworks and entertainment plus a lot of stalls. Was great for start of winter festivities a lot of Christmas stuff, a lot of expensive rubbish and expensive food sellers. But the kids seemed to be having fun which was main good thing. Fireworks this year were great, downside was people just standing blocking pathways with no respect for others trying to get around, prams and disabled people were definitely having a difficult time and police were no help just standing there with blank expressions on their faces as usual and of no use whatsoever. To be honest a system could have been put in place like maybe one way to ease congestion. The fair for the children was good, plenty of different amusements, not cheap though but kept them interested while waiting for lights to be switched on."
"Lovely visit here enjoyed our afternoon here and a fabulous river boat ride"
"Well done to Newark Town Council they have turned the Market place into busy activity hive with the beach. Kids appeared to be loving it and parents able to sit in the deck chairs enjoying their enjoyment. A great young female singer there too, as well as market stalls, cafe with outdoor seating giving it a real continental feel. It's a credit to the council I trying to keep the town alive........well done"
