"Lovely, friendly staff and delicious cakes! (You should definitely try sticky toffee or lemon cake! Or their fruit tarts!) I pop in for a slice every time I walk my dog in the neighbourhood in the morning. Service is great and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Overall really nice place to visit for cake and coffee, their savory food also looks and smells delicious but I haven't tried it, so you have to try it yourself"

"We come here weekly, and have always enjoyed the food. However, in recent weeks the levels of service and cleanliness have declined dramatically. There is always a queue when I arrive and staff seem overwhelmed, panicked, and completely unable to run an efficient ordering system. They are friendly, but hopeless. 20 minutes to get a coffee and being brought the wrong order have become normal occurrences. The interior needs a refresh, especially downstairs. The chairs used upstairs are very small, so anyone who isn’t straight sized cannot comfortably use them, and has no option but to use the benches downstairs. Downstairs is fusty, dingy and staff often seem to be using it to do rudimentary stock takes. Furthermore, the toilets clearly do not get checked regularly throughout the day and are dingy and grimy. Today, water suddenly started pouring through a ceiling light fitting. When the kitchen staff called a colleague (possibly the manager), he seemed very nonchalant about it, despite it being a clear health and safety risk. Overall, nice food (if a tad expensive - > £4 for a coffee and > £10 for a toasted sandwich, but staff need to be better trained and the cleanliness has to improve."

"Not a pleasant experience. Maybe worth considering informing the customers in advance that there will be ongoing drilling and one won’t be able to hear themselves. We bought coffee and cakes not knowing as no one told us there will be maintenance work. Staff had no empathy, neither they were super friendly or apologetic. Shrugged their shoulders. Perhaps also better completing these works outside of hours. Coffee was a good average, shame about the experience."

"Lovely Full English Breakfast. Great coffee. Pleasant service. Only downside was frankfurter and not sausage, and fried eggs had chilli flakes - so not quite ‘English’"
