"Nice shop you can get most things there"
"Very small, privately owned shop but they sell just about everything. However, it's not the cheapest place to go if you're on a budget!! The opening times are officially as stated but they don't stick to them and sometimes on a Sunday they don't open at all. A couple of times a year they go away to Dubai and the shop is closed all week or fortnight with zero warning. They have an in-store cash machine that charges £1.75 per withdrawal and they don't do cashback at the till. There used to be a 50p charge on card payments but since that has now been banned, I expect they will slap a minimum spend on card payments soon enough (I'll edit this when I find out how much that is). HUGE range of alcohol but none of it is cheap. Minimum cost for 4 cans of regular lager is £5. Lots of snacks, sweets, chocolate, soft drinks - they don't really sell any healthy foods at all, it's pretty much all junk food. There are two chest freezers with frozen meals and Ice cream that are all a pretty decent price (but only because they are pre-labeled!!) Look out for their home-made samosas at the side of the till! They are always made fresh and they are absolutely delicious (if a bit overpriced at 75p each!!) The only newspapers and magazines they sell are the Daily Star, the Daily Express, The S*n and TV times style magazines so go elsewhere for news!! (Incidentally, the owners actually bought the old paper shop over the road and then closed it down and resold the premises at a massive profit to a solicitors firm, which all us locals were VERY angry about!!) They also try to charge 5p for carrier bags if they can get away with it. Always check your change before you leave because I've been shorted here more than once! It's not a bad little corner shop but I would seriously recommend walking a bit further in either direction to one of the local Tesco Expresses instead. They don't sell ANY decent toilet roll. No Andrex etc... It's all "scented" looking roll or really awful thin stuff but it is only between £1-£2 for 4 rolls. Pet food is also in short supply and nothing decent to speak of. Check the dates on EVERYTHING. I've bought plenty of things from here that have turned out to be out of date!!!"
