"I had a lovely dish here of liver, bacon, a fried egg and bubble & squeak washed down with a cold fruit juice from the fridge. The chef cooked all the ingredients perfectly and uses lambs liver which is richer and more gamey than other types. A polite and efficient lady behind the counter took my order and I was served by the chef. Thank you both. I'll come again for one of your great sounding set breakfasts of which you have many types, I noticed! Until then...."

"They seem like nice people although it's the usual personality-less staff that we have become used to in cafes in the last 10 years or so. The plate is placed in front of you with the now customary blank expressionless "enjoy"' said with zero conviction. They really need to up their game. I had the set 2 breakfast and it was awful, left the lot. Made with the cheapest and nastiest ingredients: Cheap sawdust sausages, probably only 10% meat. Horrid salty chewy bacon , my piece actually had a piece of bone in it and luckily I didn't break a crown. Cheap horrible eggs, visibly old. Baked beans from the pound shop watery and tasted funny. The mushrooms were ok though, the toast fine and the coffee not too bad. And,it has become the norm (since the Italians all sold their excellent cafes) to serve everything on stone cold plates - Heat the plates! It's not rocket science. I know this cafe is mainly used by the lads from the local school who just want cheap. But if you want more discerning customers you need to improve and I hope you do. To the business owner: If you want me to improve my review, respond positively, admitting your failings and proposing improvements."
