"School messed up, 99%students failed gcse teachers never come to school (injuries apparently)"
"Fantastic school, with a fantastic philosophy. A place where every child really is equal, no matter what their difficulties, differences or background. A school where all children have the ability and help to learn, for example.... my son has severe dyslexia and was ignored and put in a 'special ed' room on and off for 3 years, with minimum chance of any qualifications, resulting in a severe case of anxiety and depression. It got to the point he wouldnt leave his room for 3 months, was talking about death all the time, became completely shutdown, and ended up referred to healthy minds, all because of a school. So we eventually pulled him out, for his own sake. A change of school later and hes different child. Here he is a popular kid who loves to get up, get ready and get himself to school. He cant wait to get there. Hes also in all the sports teams again, something he loved and lost, due to his poor state of mind, and hes in 'all' top learning groups, with the abilty to achieve A*'s straight through. Dont get me wrong though, if you come here thinking youll get an easy ride....wrong! if you come here thinking you can act the fool or be rude and disrespectful.... wrong! And if you come here to be disruptive and drag others down with you....wrong. However, if you come here wanting to learn and wanting to succeed, then theyll help you in every way they can and will run that extra mile for any kid, but youve got to want it and work for it and be proactive in your own learning. "You can be anybody you want to be, with the time that you have, as long as you put your mind, body and soul into it." Believe, achieve, succeed! These are the underlying philosophies of the school and the dedicated staff and Principal Mr McDaid. So what can i say about this school, except "its Awesome!", it changed my sons life completely and i have no praise high enough. A Fantastically Excellent School."
"They cannot teach A-levels then they blame it on you and force you to do BTEC which they can't even teach hence even the BTEC students are leaving. There are 2-3 teachers for each subject. Their excuse is because different teachers specialise in different areas. How can they be teaching if they don't even fully know their own subject - it's ridiculous! A-levels are hard, they know it too. For this reason, it is crucial why there should be good teachers. To be blunt, none of the teachers could careless about teaching. They just turn up for the wages. I've learnt nothing at my time in the UTC... As for Project Based Learning, despite having all the facilities, all we are told to do is do research then make a poster or presentation about it. Thus, rendering the facilities useless. It's just there for show, really. I do not recommend this school to anyone. If you don't believe me, take a look at the ofsted report."
"This college promised us many things, but failed to deliver half of them. Many teachers didnt come in half the time. I left as soon as i can, and im not suprised by the ofsted report"
"This place is great, they don't just focus on GCSE results, they set out up with university places and jobs and apprenticeships once your school years are over."
