"Excellent stay at this wonderful historic gem in the heart of Chester. It is so well located, everything is walkable. The staff are lovely and gave great service. Very comfortable stay, great sleep in our beautifully decorated room. The pub food is excellent, with the rooms quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend The Pied Bull!"
"Stopped at the pied bill for a drink and a spot of lunch, I had the steak pie and my husband had the bangers & mash, served with a selection of fresh vegetables. My pie came with chips but I asked if I could have mash instead. The pie was the best I can say I’ve ever tasted, the mash creamy and vegetables cooked to perfection. My husband really enjoyed his sausages. Would highly recommend, lovely proper home cooked tasty food. Will definitely be back if ever this way"
"We had two nights stay here checking in on a Sunday and out on the following Tuesday. The pub is good food and service excellent. Our room was nice clean and well appointed. I’ve marked it 3 stars because the night time noise was constant. From people wandering noisily throughout the night and regular traffic followed by the early starts of refuse collection, street cleaning vehicle, bottle collections and the delivery and collection of beer kegs we didn’t get a decent sleep either night! I would visit the pub again but never stay in the hotel.l preferring to find somewhere I might enjoy a more restful sleep!"
"Lovely Inn, only issue we had was that we were in room 23, which is ground floor and next to the back yard which housed the bins and barrels. That isn't a problem until 5:45am on the Monday morning when there was either a delivery or something similar because it was very noisy for about 15 minutes. The wall to the room next door was also very thin as we could hear the full conversation. We also had no hot water on the last morning, but we told the staff who fixed it straight away (the pilot light had gone out on the boiler). Staff were great the whole time and the food was really good"
"What a fabulous place! Just had 3 nights in a twin room with my Mum. Excellent service from checking in, to checking out. Room had everything we needed, Ensuite was roomy and looked newly refurbished. We had an issue with the radiator in the room, but this was quickly sorted out by the manager, who supplied us with a portable radiator. Food in the bar is a little pricey compared to other pubs in the area, but it's good food. The location is spot on for the city centre. Can't wait for my next stay!"
