"Amazing cut, atrocious customer service! I was so pleased to have finally found a stylist who cuts short hair so nicely and was planning to return regularly. However, what happened next has put me right off and I no longer feel comfortable there and will not go ever again. I needed to reschedule my appointment as I was out of town and I phoned them 8 times - each time it didn't give any voicemail option. I was also unable to cancel online or via e-mail as those options were not available. There was a chatbox that popped up on my phone and I wrote them a few desperate messages on there as I did not want to let them down last minute. However, at the time of my scheduled appointment I received a call from them and spoke to a very rude female who was really dismissive and argued with me saying that I should have called them - I explained that I called 8 times but she did not believe me and just kept repeating the same thing as if she wasn't listening or taking in anything of what I had said. After that the manager came on the phone and was also implying that I had lied about calling them. He told me I had to pay half the price of my appointment as that's the policy and I explained that I was unable to pay it over the phone. Two weeks later when I finally got back into town, I went there immediately to pay in person - but there was absolutely no appreciation of what went wrong or how this situation could have been avoided and they did not even acknowledge that I had voluntarily come to pay the bill for my missed appointment - they just repeated that their phone is working and no one else has had this problem, without any attempt to remedy the situation or to understand my experience. Altogether a terrible experience for me (it's hard to write it down properly in the above text) and given the company's approach to dealing with this problem, I would definitely not feel comfortable sitting there with scissors so close to my face ever again. Pity, the hair cut was nice - but the service and how they dealt with problems and customers left much to be desired. Would not recommend. UPDATE: Honestly, I was going to leave this go but after reading the response below I’ve decided to update my post. Firstly, the response below attempts to shame me into submission by claiming that “clients… were all somewhat taken aback by [my] behaviour… and the disrespect in disturbing their service” and also blames my emotions of “frustration and/or anger” for the negative review of their business. I would not call this much of an apology or a reflection of their service delivery/customer satisfaction. Secondly, on the day of my initial post I received an e-mail from the owners which was truly shocking! In it they actually admitted that they DID get my messages on the day - which they claimed previously that they hadn’t. They then state that my review “doesn't reflect the truth of the situation” which to me sounds like a fancy way of again saying they don’t believe me and calling me a liar, which is the exact thing my complaint is about… they also asked me to remove the review which I should imagine goes against the whole idea of having an open review system on Google. While they are of course worried about their business in these trying times, I would encourage them to think more deeply about why reviews such as these get written in the first place. I support our local businesses and understand that it’s difficult for everyone right now. That is why I came to pay the 50% fine on my first day back in Sheffield. I re-stress, this is nothing to do with their cancellation policy which I willingly paid. It’s about their very dismissive and almost abusive communication culture that runs from top management through to the assistants who answer the phones. Simply not somewhere I’d feel comfortable again. Like I said in my original post, it’s a pity as I had two nice hair cuts there in the past - but there are plenty of other talented businesses with far better manners."
