"Had a mark on my drivers door, spoke to and visited a few places, was worried because the car is metallic silver and was told it was one of the hardest colours to get right and blend in, even told that if they didn't get it right the side of the car would need to be done.....thankfully Chris came out and all my worry was gone, in less than 2 hours the job was done, blended perfectly, colour match was spot on and the finish was superb, can't fault his workmanship at all. "I have only owned my car for 2 months and typically someone slammed their car door into mine leaving a bad dent near the door handle which went down through the paintwork. I initially contacted Chips Away (as I had used them before on a previous car) but they wanted crazy money saying a SMART repair couldn't be carried out due to location of dent and colour of my car (?!?) so they wanted to blend into the door panel and keep the car for 2 days in their workshop. I contacted Chris at Smart Refinish and he came out today and did a 1st class job. Completed work at my home within around 2 hours and did a SMART repair. Fantastic service and whilst I hope I don't need to use his services again for any car damage I will certainly contact him again if I need to."

"Where do I start!? Brand new VW Scirocco, second day of ownership and somebody had scuffed the side of my rear bumper! Cleaned it up best I could and googled Smart Repairs local to Sheffield. Chris and Smart Refinish came high up in the search results with 5 star reviews so I took a gamble. Got in touch for a quote through the website which gives you a link to a WhatsApp contact which I thought was good. Chris got back to me and said this would be easily rectified which put my mind at ease as I was gutted with it been a brand new car. Even though Chris is mobile I asked if I could come down to where the business is based as that was better for me. We arranged a time and I was told it would take 2 hours. This was ideal for me as I need my car daily for work. Chris wasn't at the location at the time (1pm) he said but I met his Dad and left my keys with him. I messaged Chris and asked him to let me know an estimated time later so I could come to collect. I also asked if I could pay card, Chris only excepts cash or bank transfer. It got to 3.30 and I had not heard anything so sent a message asking how it was going and what time to collect.Chris said it was going "fine its an easy repair" and said looking at 4.30. I got there at 4.30 and Chris was still working on it. I asked him how its going and now Chris said well its ok but I've run out of time. He explained that the paint wasn't taking very well and leaving like a bobbly surface. I said that I had cleaned it prior to coming and had used Auto Glym resin polish to try and improve it the best I could. He said thats why then and its effecting the paint. Im pretty sure most people with scuffs do attempt to improve it somewhat before they look at other options? surly in the process of smart repair any residue from products would be removed anyway?? along with the bad texture the paint shade looked way off in my eyes but Chris reassured me that when he's finished it properly it will be fine. I decided to have Chris come to mine this time. We arranged a time of 2pm. I work in the day so had arranged to leave work early to get home for 2. Chris messaged me at 1.59 saying he was stuck on a big job and wasn't sure when he could get to me. I wasn't too pleased as i had rushed home and thought he could have let me know earlier. I told Chris this and asked what time he was thinking he said 4.30 and did get to me for then. I was initially told that it shouldn't take more then an hour to finish off as most of the prep was done it just needed the finish sorting. I left Chris to it but when it got to 7pm I was starting to worry. I popped outside and asked how it was going haha again Chris said the paint wasn't taking how it should. It looked so obvious also and I got that sinking feeling. Chris explained that the bumper takes paint differently to the main body work which I kinda understand but the other side looks seamless and this did not. I let him finish but I was starting to get upset, more at myself for rushing into having it repaired. He finished around 7.40 taking a lot longer then the 2hrs originally stated but I would rather him take the time if it results in a good finish and match. It hasn't, as you can see in the pictures the colour is a lot lighter and the finish is flat in comparison to the main body metallic. Chris had asked for £120 but called it £100 I shouldn't have paid but I'm not great with conflict he had insisted that it could be the light at that time making it stand out more. I was fed up so went to the gym. Walking back to the car I could see the paint job from a mile away it was that obvious. I sent Chris some pics and said how unhappy I was and he said he wasn't sure how he could improve the colour as its one standard formula with no varients but offered to manually tint it darker?? I didn't like the sound of this and Chris said that only other option was to take it too VW if I wanted "perfection" at the cost of around £500. We agreed on a 3rd visit but Chris makes excuses and doesn't show. He is now ignoring my messages and phone calls."
