"The room was beyond dirty, cob webs everywhere, dusty, rusty nail sticking out of the wall in the shower, broken mirror, no toiletries, and no breakfasts! If you want to watch TV.... Forget it, signal is terrible! The beef was comfortable and clean though and the room was warm."
"I wouldn't give it the one star, but it was cheap. It's advertised as a B&B but there is no breakfast. To be fair it does say this on their website, using Covid as an excuse. Mind you with the state of our room I wouldn't fancy their offerings. Their telephone manner had a lot to be desired. Monosyllabic Hello yeah what. Our room was dingy, with the shower room door hanging off its runners a reed infuser that was empty and dry, a collapsed bed puggy mattress and furnishings a charity shop would turn away. The photos say it all."
"We were attending an early wedding at Merrydale Manor, and we able to dress and leave our bags in the room, by a helpful lady. That was the best bit of the whole experience, as it steadily got worse...the door wouldn't open or lock, the room was shabby, smelt of damp and had a general appearance of neglect. There was a kettle, random cutlery, crockery and two mugs...one of which was under the radiator catching a leak! We arrived back in the early hours, regretting our decision to stay and after a fitful sleep, a shower were I felt dirtier coming out than when I went in! We were glad to leave. It wasn't that close to Merrydale Manor and I regret staying...don't book this place...there isn't even any breakfast provided, which may have been a blessing!! We couldn't leave fast enough!"
"Pros: location, comfortable bed, staff responsive to request for towel that wasn't provided ("due to COVID"??), large shelf for storage in bedroom. Cons: musty smell, state of shower (see pictures), not particularly clean, tiny sink, unmanned reception (though someone arrived quickly after we called them). Conclusion: probably not worth the £55 per night unless you need the location. Caveat: this review relates to room 1 in April 2022, though I have no reason to think other rooms are any different."
