"Great service at an excellent price."
"Have used this place for a few years now. Always great service & reasonable prices. Highly recommend"
"Absolute cowboys. Supplied discs and pads to be changed. One month later pads are down to bare metal. Obviously never did the work but charged me and kept parts that I supplied. Reported to trading standards."
"Wanted a thorough check on my car because it had hardly been used through lockdown. It was thoroughly checked, no problems found. Good friendly service, reasonable price."
"These guys are local to me so I thought I'd give them a try, however I am soured by my recent experience and will be going elsewhere. EC Garage is reasonably priced but maybe it will end up costing more in the long run. I have to question the ability and thoroughness of the mechanics for the following reasons: Firstly, I've never had an MOT and a Service that's been booked in for a week take 2 days but maybe the age of the car is meaning that the job is bigger. Second, I put the car in a month or so ago. The handbrake wasn't working properly and I paid £50 for it to be fixed. One of the failures on the MOT this time around was that the handbrake cable was misbehaving once again - one month since £50 was spent on it. Third, when I took the car home after the first days work it was misfiring and the engine warning light was flashing. Not using the car that night cost me £25 in taxi fees. It turns out one of the mechanics didn't put back a connection properly. Fourth, the bonnet developed a problem where it would not open (seized lock) on day 2 of the work. How this can happen is beyond me. It could be that a mechanic caused the problem by accident. It could be a co-incidence that the problem arose when these guys were working on my car. This seems unlikely to me but it’s possible. I'll never know unfortunately. The grill is sitting much looser compared to how it was before, the lock will not open and the grill has been drilled at the top in a rather unseemly manner. This doesn't bother me so much as I have a huge dent in the drivers side door anyway. Finally, when I was picking my car up after day 2 of work, I checked the problems before leaving the forecourt. Whilst one of the mechanics tried and failed to get the bonnet open for me the man I had mostly been dealing with was swearing about a car... mine maybe? It seemed that way, he was certainly frustrated about something. The car does feel much better to drive now it's passed it's MOT but it's incredibly frustrating that the car is sitting there with a bonnet that won't open and a mangled grill."
