"Had a meeting and lunch here. The meeting room was very spacious, the tech all worked and there are plenty of plugs. Tea and coffee provided, along with some biscuits. Staff very helpful throughout. The lunch was nice too, not too pricey for quality food, had the seabass, calories printed on the menus which is very helpful. Pint of MPA on cask was in perfect condition!"

"The venue for the Xmas party, first impressions were it was posh and the staff are all very friendly and professional. Unfortunately the bedrooms let the hotel down. There were a few of us staying over on the 17th of December 2022. One room was amazing very modern and warm, then there was the other 4 rooms we had which were very old fashioned decor, very tired in parts of the room and freezing cold. We were so disappointed and did complain to reception a few times through the evening. We were told they would boast the heating, but this made no difference to our rooms. They did give us some money back for this reason but I honestly think it wasn’t even worth any amount of money as we were all so cold and wished we could of gone home but we were drinking with it being our Xmas party. Once all the old rooms are refurnished like my friends room the hotel will be fantastic. Just be aware when booking that you will need to double check you have a modern room. The hotel was full on the night we went so they were unable to change our rooms."

"Room was really comfortable and the staff were very welcoming to start with. I paid for breakfast but missed it so I called room service and asked if it was possible to have a coffee sent to the room or just some toast but they said they didn’t have the staff… bit disappointing. The lady on reception told us when we checked in that if we needed anything at all just call reception and they’d make it happen. So it was a bit if a shame a coffee was too much to ask…"

"Lovely staff and room. They upgraded us for free too which was a lovely bonus. It is very cosy at this time of the year and in a great location. Breakfast was yummy too and had a wide variety of food. We love this hotel and would come back again. Last time we stayed here though there was a fan in our bedroom, but we couldn't find one this time. Not a big deal but sometimes we have it on for white noise in the night."

"We had high expectations of this hotel but felt disappointed. Starting with the positives- the staff were all friendly, helpful and professional. The public facing areas of the hotel were well presented- this is obviously where the investment has been made. We also thought the breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable. However, the quality of the rooms really let the place down. It's not cheap to stay here but the standard of the rooms do not match the room rate. We requested to change rooms after the first night as the first one was so dire ( this was arranged without any fuss). Do not stay in room 3- it is tiny, dark extremely hot and overlooking a miserable roof space with the vents from the kitchen, which are operating until late in the evening making it noisy. The rooms are well used, with the furniture looking tired, peeling paint along skirting boards and a bit dusty to honest. Room 12 was a bit better although, again, the room was tired looking. There had obviously been a leak from the room above and the ceiling was damaged. Also signs of a leak around the toilet with black mould on the grout around the tiles- this should have been sorted properly. I don't think we would return here as it didn't offer value for money."
