"Bupa Redditch, bad time keeping continues. What is the point of having an appointment time if you don't stick to it? I had a 10am appointment and wasn't seen until 10.40am. I appreciate there may be a 5 or even a 10 minute wait but 40 minutes? If I were a private paying customer I wonder if I'd of waited as long. I'm starting to believe the nhs patients are treated differently. I'd love to hear your comments. Thanks"
"Bupa redditch has always been of the highest standards in cleanliness, booking time and appointment time. Friendly staff, the dentist has always explained my treatment in a clear manner, so that I can make good judgments. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dental practitioner."
"Unfortunately dentist is leaving so my review may change but for now the care and friendliness of staff is amazing. Reception staff very helpful."
"I can honestly say this is the worst dentist I have ever been to. As a privately owned Bupa practice, it seems like they are prioritising their private paying patients and treating NHS patients as basically second class citizens. Either that, or just incredibly badly run with little regard for patients. Here's my recent experience of the Redditch Bupa dental practice on Bromsgrove Road. Had a severe root tooth infection on Friday. Absolute agony. No sleep for 24 hours straight. Called the dentist explained how bad it was and they agreed to see me the next morning 11:25am. What a relief I thought. This was my first visit. Got there on Saturday morning early, expecting some paperwork. First thing I noticed, despite the COVID precautions on their website about masks, using gel and seat spacing/minimising people in the waiting area. None of that was in place. The tiny reception area that seated a maximum of 4-5 people was packed. Some standing. No masks. And still more patients coming in, and deciding to wait outside. Filled out the paperwork and then watched 2 or 3 other patients come in and go into surgery well after my appointment time. Meanwhile, I'm sitting with toothache looking at my watch. Still more people go in ahead of me. An hour passes, I'm still waiting to be seen. I FINALLY get called into surgery. After explaining the situation to dentist and her advising the tooth root was infected and tooth needed extracting as it was 'pretty knackered', she told me it was a 30 minute procedure and they 'didn't have time'. Plenty of time for 4-5 other patients (probably Bupa paying ones) before me, but no time for an emergency treatment NHS patient. She put a temporary filling in an infected tooth and sent me home with an appointment for extraction on 21st September (a month to wait with an infected tooth). The next day (still in pain) I called up 111 NHS Direct and explained what happened. The emergency dentist on the 111 service arranged for an emergency extraction to be done the very same day (on a Sunday morning) because she said it definitely needed to come out right away or there would be a risk of the infection spreading. She described the Bupa dentist as a 'serious neglect of duty in NHS patient care'. So in summary, if you're an NHS patient, steer well clear of these Bupa practices. You'll be treated as a second class citizen and will probably receive a shoddy service, if my experience is anything to go by."
"Wow. Absolutely fantastic place. I was terrified of dentists ( not been for 10 years) but due to a recurring abscess I had to pluck up the courage to go to have 2 teeth removed. Staff were so understanding and compassionate. They were fine with me bringing someone with me to hold my hand. The whole process was painless and quick. You have restored my faith in dentists and I won't be scared to have regular checkups in future. Thank you all and I will be seeing you in 3 months for my follow up"
