"DISGUSTED - Walk in Centre Leigh - my husband went in this morning to an empty waiting room to check his injured foot as may have fractured it due to running accident - but he was turned away as soon as they called him in - they would not check it as it didn't happen within 2 weeks and therefore they cannot look at it! What??!!? My husband is in pain. Called the NHS number and they advised for us to go back to the walk in and demand to be seen - I'm totally angry and happy to go back but husband decided to go private instead! Shameful and an empty waiting room too!!"
"I went in on Friday evening with an ankle injury and was told there were no xray techs in so it would be advice only which I was happy wo wait for, got seen very quickly and was told I'd need an xray, so come back the next day. The following day I came back for the xray, it was very busy and had a 4 hour wait for other patients, but I got sent straight to xray. After the xray I was told to wait in the general waiting room and waited over 5 hours to be told I do have a Fractured ankle, now I understand its not the staffs fault they're underfunded, but the sign saying people get seen in order or urgency and nor arrival time annoyed me, I've been sat uncomfortably with no pain meds with a Fractured ankle and people were getting seen left right and center whilst I waited for confirmation it was Fractured, I guess they hadn't checked the xray until they saw me, but I still think if someone comes in for a suspected fracture, you could take 2 mins out to have a quick look Anyway, staff were all friendly and put up with a lot of rude patients who had no patience, ironically, I was given a boot to wear and some minimum, basic advice and told I'd be contacted by tuesday/Wednesday by a fracture specialist, its not the following Monday and I've heard nothing from anyway, thought I'd leave a quick review whilst I'm getting thier number 4 stars overall but that's because I feel bad for NHS staff and its free, otherwise it'd be 1 star"
"Reception staff nice and friendly. As for treatment, shocking. Asked reception if I could get my foot x-rayed as I have a large swelling around an old surgical site, so to me it looks like a screw is working its way out. Once I got to the triage woman is where the problems started, she said I can't have an x-ray "because they're only set up for new acute injuries like sprains and things". What kind of sense does that make? I asked for clarification and she said "oh they won't do it they're dead strict". She didn't even bother to ask to look at my foot. What a terrible nurse she was, I should have gotten her name, if the managers are reading this, then the woman seen me around 15:30 on 31/10/22. Seems like the don't want to actually do their job and just try to get rid of you."
"I cannot praise this place enough I attended recently & was amazed at the fast service I received. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I felt went out of their way to help. I missed calls from the doctor as I was driving home on the motorway so was unable to answer my phone. I rang the walk in centre back & explained and they contacted the doctor again on my behalf. This was about 5 mins before they were due to close & still I didn’t feel like a burden to them. This is the best NHS service I’ve received. I won’t hesitate to make this my first stop next time I need medical help. 5***** service & 5***** staff."
