"Can't thank the children's unit enough and their HDU team. My 12 week old baby girl was sent from another hospital without much detail on what had happened or what was wrong with her. Within an hour of being at Oldham she was being treated properly. I was devastated at the sight of my beautiful baby struggling for her breath but they worked tirelessly for days. Not only did all staff care immensely for my little girl but for us as parents too. Thank you to each and every one if you"
"My wife had an emergency and the baby was born premature. She was taken care with the top service and every one was so kind and helpful. People giving bad reviews do not realise that it is NOT hospital's fault that they are under funded. And short of staff. BLAME THE GOVERNMENT. People working at NHS are like us. They have no choice but to follow the system and they are over loaded. They are doing best to their capability"
"My Dad has spent 2 weeks almost on T7 and the staff are amazing, helpful, caring and nothing is too much trouble. It’s been nice to leave my dad at night knowing he is happy and looked after which is more than I can say for this same ward when my mum was on here in 2017. The staff deserve a medal for their care and his stay has been 5 star. Thank you to all on T7 from my mum Ann, myself Joanne and my family xx"
"This was by far the worst A n E department I’ve ever had the nightmare of ring taken too After a horrible back accident I was taken from the urgent treatment centre to the royal Oldham A n E department. I arrived in an ambulance and needed strong pain killers due to the 10 hour wait I received not one bit of comfort. Care. Pain relief. Instead as I was brought in from a job I was far away from home. 3 hours to be exact to which I was told prior to this a doctor and sister in charge would be sorting. Not being able to fully walk. Or stand up unaided I was told there was nothing to do and at 0130 in the morning had to make my own way home somehow 3 hours. With no correct discharge procedure. No money and made to feel humiliated limping hunched out of a completely unprofessional and mid managed hospital. What an absolute joke of an establishment."
"I was greatly impressed with the staff & I was very thankful that the reception had a mask for me to use as I was in no fit state to remember to bring my own, the nurse's were all quite amazing and they were always checking if I was OK. The doctor I first saw was called Nathan and he sent me for X-rays and then he explained what they were convinced was wrong with my left shoulder / arm, and what really made Nathan stand out was that when he gave me the prescription for the medication he was prescribing he then took me in a hospital wheelchair to the main entrance of the hospital and explained exactly where I needed to go to get my prescription filled in Once again I have been in A&E and the staff are all fantastic I cannot say enough good things about the staff I had a bit of a scare my lips were swelling and I was finding it difficult to breathe but the great nurses (& doctors) soon had an idea of what was wrong with me and they kept me in overnight in the respiratory wing of the A&E and the staff were excellent very friendly and they soon had me medicated to counter the oedema and Ivan (one of the night nurses) made the best cup's of tea I have ever had in A&E and they kept checking on me through the night even when they had other emergencies (some quite scary) and in the morning they transferred me to another ward in the hospital to keep track of the progress of their medication with my problem I can't think of any other hospital (in Greater Manchester) that I have ever been to that could be considered anywhere as good"
