"What a lovely coffee shop this is! The staff are very friendly and polite and it feels like a home away from home. The Yorkshire tea and the omelette with ham and tomato was delicious. The baked beans was a good touch! I like the menu as it's simple but there are ample choices. The home baked cakes and biscuits are lovely too. The new owners took it over only recently so they are doing a stirling job in a very challenging market. Always good to see new businesses thriving and it's great to have this on my doorstep and in Fulwood village. I will be back!"
"I'm a ardent supporter of independent coffee shops and really dislike branded franchises like Costa because they lack real quality. I recently tried an Americano at this shop as I was just passing by. An Americano is the basic coffee of any coffee shop but it represents the benchmark of product in any coffee shop. I was quite dissappointed that the Coffee I had here lacked any real taste but the Service was courteous and friendly. However what also was disappointing was the staff were patting a dog that came in with its owner and afterwards they didn't wash their hands before continuing with their work. Outlets handling food and drink must observe hygiene standards. Touching a dog whilst working with food should not be allowed."
"The updated menu is a great value, the festive drinks are great, and the service is lovely! Will happily visit again."
"Quite disappointing. I walked in thinking this is a nice little independent cafe and the bonus of play area we heard about was main attraction. I was disappointed to find the play area and a few tables in the basement without windows. Fair use of the resources which cannot be faulted, but personally I didn't feel I can sit there for more than 10 mins. The worst part was the how unfriendly and inconsiderate was some staff members. We ordered coffee and a cake for my 4 years old and took a table. While we were waiting, my daughter was hungry so I gave her home made cheese sandwich which is one of the very few things she would eat which is why we always pack some whenever we are out and about. When the coffees and cake arrived, we were told she cannot eat that sandwich in here because it was not bought in the cafe. If you want to have such a policy, fair enough but: 1) I would first expect some signs. 2) I cannot believe that such a rule would ever apply to 4 years olds, but if you insist as it's your shop your rules 3) I would be more courteous about it and say nicely (not in front of the child) that next time could you please not bring food etc etc rather than being standoffish and ruin someone's day. I didn't have to defend why my kid was eating a homemade sandwich. The whole encounter was annoying. I would have demanded my money back and leave the cafe shop all together if I didn't have visitors with me and I was trying to let them have a good time."
"Nothing but praise for this lovely little place! A huge selection of food and drink as you can see from the menus. We had the lentil dahl, one of the vegan options, which was absolutely delicious. Then we had Victoria sponge and gluten free vegan flapjack, both of which were very fresh and tasty. Staff are very friendly and the interior is welcoming, with an extra area for children downstairs. Highly recommend!"
