"Ordered Mackerel Teriyaki, Tori Kara Age and Ugani roll were good. Udon and Tempura was nothing special. Service was shocking, first we came in as birthday celebration dinner on Monday evening, not busy at all, tell us immediately we only have 1.5 hrs for dining and need to leave after that. There was almost no people in the restaurant when we finished. Second, when we were having the mackerel, once we took the last piece of fish from the plate, still left a plum that I wish to try, the waitress took the plate away immediately without asking whether I still wanted it. Third, we ordered tempura, and waited for an hour, reminding them twice, apparently as they forgot this order. In the end, spent more than 100 pounds for two people. With this price, I would expect a much better experience. Would recommend Roka with this price point honestly. Will not come back again."
"CP value is low. The price is not justified to have this quality. Overpriced a lot. Service was not good. The waitress kept on asking us if we want drink. She even forbidden my kid from having her own juice as she said their restaurant is selling juice!!!! Lucky I asked her if they sell Don their and they said no, otherwise they may not allow my kid to have her own snack. Ridiculous!!! I also ordered Japanese dumping for my kid but the taste just liked the one bought from Costco!!!"
"If you don’t want to wait outside in the chilling wind with an empty stomach and with no one attend to you, then avoid this restaurant. After dining at this restaurant today, I can say that all the negative reviews are true. The food is average yet extremely overpriced (you can definitely get much better food at this price). Can you imagine a main dish without rice? Well, here they charge a small bowl of rice for 4 pounds! Service is surprisingly horrible. My friends and I asked them if there were any table available and the woman at the reception told us to just wait 10 minutes outside and would offer us a table as soon as there was one empty. We agreed and sat outside. 10 minutes later, she came out and told us that we did not have a reservation and they would accommodate other guests first. We thought that’s fine, so agreed to dine outside. Then the male waiter got our order wrong, and we sat at the table outside with chilly night wind for another 20 minutes before we were greeted with only one main dish and two side dishes. We ordered 4 main chicken teriyaki, yet only one was served, and without rice! Even though we did order sushi rice! When we realized things were not quite right, it had already been 40 minutes! We had to went inside and complained to the chef, but he was irresponsive. We complained to the waiter, they just kept saying they were sorry (they should feel sorry) without doing anything practical to get our meal ready. It is literally the most ridiculous meal I have ever had in London. My friends and I had to eat a whole pack of Oreo because we were starving and frozen. We should have just walked away, after all no staff cared about and attended to us. Finally, after one hour waiting, we were finally able to sit inside and served with food. But how can we happily eat our food with everything that’s happened? It was supposed to be a happy night out and gathering but it was ruined. They kept saying sorry, but it is pointless. The chef gave us 10% discount in the end as an apology, but it can hardly compensate for our loss. The restaurant is poorly managed and organized. Would never visit there again."
"Not sure whether it is a good value for money (perhaps good in London standard?), two lunch sets and a tempura udon cost a total of £78 (with 12.5% discretionary service charge automatically added to the price). Taste was ok... I have had Japanese food in many other countries and maybe it's not fair to judge the food here with international standards?"
"One of the best places to enjoy high-quality sushi in London. Very good selection of sake and umeshu too. It’s not cheap, but the price is reasonable."
