"absolutely awful. how this place can be described as a dress heaven is beyond me. walking into the shop we were told to place up to 7 dresses we liked on our provided rack (which we had to wait half an hour for) We then asked who would be able to assist with sizing and the workers who clearly would rather be anywhere else but there told us we would get allocated with a stylist. after choosing our dresses we tried to find a worker to inform them we wanted a fitting room to try on. 2 workers ignored our calls as they were on their phones. we finally got a fitting room, they are so small, cramped and hot you have hardly any room for the dresses. our “stylist” was no where to be seen and we received no help. when we were finally attended too, the first thing the lady said without even trying to get the dress on was “yeah this isn’t fitting” which made me feel insignificant and insecure. the dresses in which you try on are falling apart. broken zips, bits falling off makeup stains. terrible customer service and i do not recommend at all"
"How the manager allows the business to run like this is beyond me. Where do I start? 1) I originally made an appointment for my younger sister weeks in advance, the night before I received a text message saying appointment cancelled, clearly automated. I booked another appointment immediately and received a text (from a real person this time) saying I couldn't have that appointment either. Why have them available to book online if you can't do them? After my 3rd booking, I got an appointment. 2) we were told it was a 10-15 minute wait to try on dresses, 45 minutes later we were STILL waiting. My elderly grandmother needed to sit down after standing for a while and sat on one of the many empty benches outside the fitting room, she was told to move and she couldn't sit there until our turn. 3) i know they are sample dresses but some of the dresses to try on are literally falling apart, all of the straps are mangled, zips are broken and bits are falling off. If they're not falling apart, they're covered in makeup stains. In most cases it's both! 4) some staff are lovely which is the only reason l've given a star. Others are clearly not happy to be at work, walking round and standing on their phones, standing in a corner chatting. Others have no awareness whatsoever, people are taking photos and they're just walking right in front of the camera, completely oblivious. My sister was torn between two dresses and the sales assistant was insisting we place a deposit on both, something we would never do as this is how businesses like this take your money that you don’t get back. They're either ridiculously clingy or don't want to know you, there's no in between. 5) there is no pricing structure whatsoever, they seem to charge what they like! After my other sister wanted to purchase a dress labelled as £320, we were told it was a total of £500? How did they work that out? We left as we were not prepared to be ripped off like that. Absolutely diabolical."
"Recommend. Recommend. Recommend!! I got my prom dress from here and oh my word it was beautiful. The staff were lovely and helped me find the dress I was looking for. I would happily travel to get here and the store is absolutely beautiful too. Highly recommend!!"
"If i could give no stars i would. I saw Sonique on TikTok, and fell in love with a specific dress which they frequently advertise on their social media and is deemed quite popular. I was really nervous about trying in dresses, due to be needing more of a bigger size, but i felt relieved as Sonique advertised a lot that they had sizes 00-24. As i live quite far away, it would be around 2 hours to travel to Sonique, but i loved this dress for my prom and i really wanted to get it. We booked around 2 weeks in advance, and had already browsed through the website and social media platforms to try on dresses because that is what i liked. I made sure that each dress was in my size, and they were all in stock. On the website they had all of the sizes “in stock”, which was a total lie when i got in store, after my 2 1/2 hour drive. When i got in store, i was instructed to choose dresses and put them on a rack. I was devastated when told that the dress that we had travelled so far for had never been in stock in my size, and every other dress i tried on wasn’t in my size. i was so upset, and it kept getting worse from there. After having no dresses that i liked in my size, the “stylist” kept bringing out dresses in the colours and styles that i repeatedly kept asking not to be brought out, which made my experience so much worse as i felt so self conscious. Long story short, not a great experience at Sonique due to very bad advertising, and a waste of a day. Lots of dresses for sizes 00-10 though! ☹️ Maybe Sonique, advertise what you really have in stock, because that ruined my day and my prom dress shopping experience."
