"Have such fond memories of what used to be 'The Quays' back in the day when I was a kid, so it's always nice to return to the restaurant and reminisce the memories. Recently visited on New Year's Eve & after having visited probably within the last year or so for breakfast, decided to sign up the the Brewers Fayre Club and have since received numerous brilliant offers that seem to be in regular rotation. I got a bottomless drink which I always think are great value for money considering that you can refill your drink as many times as you want. I ordered steak, which arrived to my preferred taste and was nicely cooked, along with chips, peas, a cooked tomato and a portion of onion rings. Didn't feel that the sizes of the dishes were overly generous, (coulda definitely thrown a few extra chips in there) but enjoyed the food all the same. With the club discount code, my Mum and I got two meals for the price of one, which is amazing in the current climate. Expected the place to be packed with it being New Year's Eve, but was a steady flow of people, nice atmosphere and was lovely and warm. Whilst there are gluten free options, it would be nice to see more options being made available - would like to be able to enjoy fish and chips or the occasional pie. Will definitely return and create more memories in the future. Access to the facilities are wheelchair friendly"
"Decidedly soggy beer battered haddock, although the fish was good & tasty. Service was nice & polite. My granddaughter enjoyed my chips. If you're doing bread & butter with fish 'n' chips then you should be able to make a decent chip butty, a nice slice of Hovis or Warburton's would be best. All in all, pleasant & inoffensive but nothing special."
"For a food serving pub we were delighted at the service we received today 15 Sept 2021. Mid week it was fairly busy because if the superb meal deal at £8.99 for 2 people! (Not sure how a place survives by such low costs though). A lovely spacious place with nice staff. We'll be back for sure. *Update*: July 2022. We've returned a few times since my review. Our experience hasn't been as good as previous. Queues for ordering, miserable staff (not all of them. Just the young ones), repeated unavailable food choices and staff not asking for vouchers/discounts when ordering thus, you end up paying far more than you planned. Otherwise, it's still a nice place to visit. #BrewersFayre #Watermill #Halifax #Review"
"We called by for the carvery. Good polite staff. Plenty of meat which was cooked well. Yorkshire puddings were too soft though and had been under heat lamps too long. Good selection of vegetables. Gravy was very thin. Lovely view of canal basin from our table"
