"We ordered chicken masala and it was just dry and overall not good. It had burnt parts that seemed like they had been stuck to the grill all day. Also, it tasted liked a mix of everything they cook because of the lack of cleaning. I'm usually not picky with that if the taste is good but it just wasn't. Also the naan was pretty bad, couldn't finish it."
"I had chicken malai. The flavor was very nice. It needed some vegetables inside or salad on the side as it feels heavy after a while. Price is high (£9.50). Nice stuff."
"Maybe I ordered the wrong option? I had a tandoori naan but without cheese (thought it was a bit random that an Indian stall would serve cheese that wasn't paneer in their dishes). The bread didn't taste freshly baked, it felt more like it was bought from a supplier. It also didn't have that pillowy, light-wight, fluffiness that naans from restaurants have when baked in the tandoor. The chicken was dry and not very well spiced either, and there was a sparse lack of chilli sauce to compensate for my cheese-less option. I think that this concept relies heavily on cheese to keep it popular, as cheese is basically euro-crack for the non-spice enthusiasts. It detracts from the authenticity of the concept, making it an otherwise easy way to pinch pennies from European tourists. Also the lady serving me was very huffy and didn't clarify the queuing system properly."
"28 years in India and the best Malai chicken in London. I stumbled across it at Leather lane and to put it very simply one of the most liberating food experiences! All you need on a cold, freezing afternoon(almost everyday in London) is the warmth of the super tender and creamy malai chicken in a naan straight out of the tandoor!! Very authentic and a hidden gem! It’s the first stall in Leather lane from one of the entrances. I could write an essay on it, but I’ll stop now!"
"We were initially slightly full and walked past but were dragged back by the lingering aroma of the chicken like a 60's Disney cartoon. The man at the counter offered us a free sample of the malai chicken and after one delicious bite, I was hooked. I hadn't had this feeling since my first hit of crystal meth in the 80s. We ordered the chicken malai wrap in garlic naan bread and fair to say, I was left speechless. If I could give 6 stars, I would give 5 and a half. Would recommend."
