"This place looks good and the seating area is also very nice but the most important thing which it was lacking for a restaurant is their food quality and taste. We ordered all vegetarian food and the taste wasn’t good. I remember I ordered chilli paneer and got served tofu instead which isn’t acceptable. The staff was kind enough to take back the items which we didn’t like and didn’t charge us for it. Overall it’s a good place for non vegetarians but not for vegetarian people."
"Very slow customer service, took a long time to get table, very slow waiters, no enthusiasm for the job, food was standard, service slow, items missing, had to keep asking for Basic things like napkins , water etc . Lamb chops where nice, pani puri was ok but could feel lots of sugar in the tamarind water, salad had sugar in dressing, not very pleasant , biryani tasted slightly sour , lamb samosa was completely missing any fillings, had to return for new batch, nice but rather pricey at £4 for 2 small samosas."
"Spice Village Catering: We had our wedding on 23rd July 2022 after waiting 3 years since booking with Spice Village (covid forced us to postpone 4 times). The food served at our wedding celebrations was delicious! The staff who were serving the food were so friendly and attentive. Nauman was our event planner who took care of all the details from catering, decor and venue search. Nauman went above and beyond for us even in the last week when we were told last minute by the venue that there cannot be a cash bar (which they could have told us in the 3 years waiting). Despite this, Nauman managed to communicate between everyone and sort something out for us at the very last minute to ensure we got everything we wanted. Our wedding was amazing and everyone enjoyed themselves! Everyone loved the food and decor! The decor was absolutely beautiful! Nauman is a wonderful asset to Spice Village and such a friendly person. We thank you so much for everything! Few honest points as feedback to possibly improve: - communication could be slightly better as I did find I was chasing things quite often. For example, we would be told we would receive a signed contract or a final event plan on a certain day and it would often not be sent as promised and I would chase this. Also, response times were longer than I would have thought they should be for a professional company dealing with a client’s wedding. - on the day of the wedding, even though we had put “scarf box” on the floor plan - this was not put out in the venue which was very disappointing as this is a very important part of the culture (My husband is Assyrian and these scarves are used for dancing at weddings etc). My side is Indian and I had guests asking if we had scarves so they could take part, which I only came to learn at the end of the night. Therefore, our guests could not experience this side of the culture unfortunately which was an important part of our wedding. - also on the floor plan, it was set out that a gift table would be set up but this was not done - the post box was simply placed on the floor in front of our stage. - my husband spoke to Nauman and requested a cake stand which we were told would be provided, but this was not provided. - during the reception, we had guests advise that they were not served dessert and when the event manager was asked about this he said that they only served this to guests who were seated. We were not made aware of this beforehand and did not agree to this and many guests did not have dessert or the wedding cake we asked to be cut up as there was a large amount leftover at the end. This shouldn’t have been done without our permission as we had spent money on this for all of our guests. - we had bought alcohol to be served at the bar and provided accordingly. Unfortunately it was decided for us that the bar would be opened after serving mains - this was not agreed with us beforehand. I asked the event manager about this and he said he wouldn’t want to serve it before mains and I did understand the idea behind it but thinking back, this is not something that should be decided for us as once again we paid for this to be running. As a result, the majority of the alcohol was not used and our money went to waste. Overall, we were just over the moon to finally have our day and we would highly recommend Spice Village but we want to be completely honest which is why we also provide some points which could be improved and things to pay attention to for future events. Thank you so much mainly to Nauman for everything! God bless! Selina and Eli"
"I really enjoyed the meal and found it very tasty. My wife though asked for non spicy lamb korma but it was spicy. When she said something about it they right away took it away and changed it. Still for her it was a bit too spicy. The place was full and people waiting outside in line to get in and with reason...it is really nice food but do be aware they have their name for a reason and it can be spicy"
"Came here on a weekday evening. Was relatively quiet and we had had good seating inside the restaurant. We ordered the karahi lamb and butter chicken. The curry was nice and spicey, full of taste. Although it was slightly too oily. The butter chicken was also very creamy and the chicken pieces were a good size."
