"Possibly the worst customer service ever Whilst I appreciate it wasn’t the staff members fault who contacted me it’s the lack of communication and common sense that amazes me We booked a table for 6 for Sunday roasts we were contacted 25 minutes before our booking to be told the roasts were unavailable ( this was a Sunday so the additional menu is pretty small told we have burgers !! ) the party had two members with dietary requirements meaning the rest of the menu was no good for them , given it’s a Sunday you would assume that they would know roasts would be the choice item for most people rather than over subscribing bookings so that there is no food available We were literally about to leave the house to go when we got the call. This was a birthday meal and we were left with nothing! Therefore the birthday was ruined and we had no meal for the evening. I appreciate that it’s subject to availability but they know the amount of covers booked in and didn’t cater for that don’t take bookings if you can’t fulfill them then offer to cook everyone burgers. Plus 25 minutes notice as to the fact you can’t fulfill the booking is atrocious. Sent and email to head office just think this is poor standards"
"We had a table booked for Xmas lunch yesterday for 8 people, it was a shambles!! Table was booked for 2.45pm, we didn’t get starters until 3.45! The nearly another hour wait for mains! The mains food wasn’t great, some not cooked properly, some cold, my daughter was handed a very hot plate and burnt her hands! There were sausages on the veggie dinners! All in all not great, was very disappointed, and definitely not worth the money we paid for the meals! The manager was lovely and was trying his best, but I think the kitchen staff are letting him down! I won’t be coming back, it’s a shame as have eaten in this pub a lot in the past."
"This place seems to have changed and it feels like it is getting ready to close. No food, fires switched off the whole warmth of the pub is disappearing.****** Thanks for your reply to my post. It is great to hear that the pub is moving forward and has new staff. We have always enjoyed coming to you, and cannot believe the changes that have happened. Roll on November I can't wait *****update 11.12.22.....attended the queen's head for our annual family dinner. The table was booked for 3pm. Starters came out at 3.50 meal was finished just shy of 6pm, so I would guess that staffing is still an issue. Fires were on and there was a DJ playing giving the place an atmosphere that was badly missing on our last visit. There are signs of improvement but the service was very slow seeing as there was only us and another table eating so I am guessing probably 20 ish covers in total. Pleased to see the warmth coming back into the pub."
"Don't bother booking a meal here as they take your booking online then when you turn up tell you the kitchen is shut. We even chose our meals went to the bar & paid for them & then the chef came over & said he had cleaned all the grill & the kitchen & wouldn't be doing anymore cooking. The waitress even brought us over a jug of water without telling us there was no food. Apparently they are very short staffed WELL DO NOT TAKE ANY BOOKINGS. This was a special meal for a 60th birthday. We had to find somewhere else to eat. They gave us 25% off our next meal but we will not be going back there in the future. I would ring first & check if you have made a booking to make sure you will get a meal."
"Amazing pub with a great atmosphere, staff were very friendly, respectful, kind and understanding. Some of the staff are fairly new so it’s best to be patient and give them time to get your order ready. The food is absolutely superb, theres a lot of variety to choose from and the chefs give you a lot of wiggle room to mix and match to make yourself the perfect meal. Also a decent selection of drinks to choose from such as cocktails, ciders, ales you name it. Overall it makes for a very enjoyable experience"
