"Honestly not sure how this place has 5 star reviews as my experience was no where near that. To start with, the Sev Puri we ordered was delivered to another table and the staff was oblivious until we asked about it around 30mins later. But more importantly, this Pav Bhaji was the most bland, tasteless pav bhaji I have ever had. And while the vada pav tasted decent, the size of the vada was so small, it felt like I was just having pav with chutney. Lastly, the reviews that claim this food is authentic, clearly have never been to Bombay because even if you try, you won’t be able to find such bland & tasteless food anywhere in Bombay. UPDATE: Rating updated from 1 to 3 ⭐️ because the owners cared to reply to my original review. Might visit again soon to see if the customer experience goes any differently."
"Proper Indian restaurant with focusing on Bombay chowpaty based street food. Very descent price for the quality of food they are serving and wonderful customer service. Very neat restaurant focusing smallest detailing of bombay based famous restaurant joints like bademiya. We just tried the street food starters and it was really delivous. Would recommend everyone to try DABELI. Proper in time service. Satisafaction- 10/10 Food - 10/10 Customer Service - 10/10"
"Excellent new address in Staines! Warmly welcomed by owner Dev and professional waitress Lipika, we had a succulent festive dinner . A large selection of typical regional dishes from Bombay local Khas, or a more classic tandoor or dal, your 5 senses will be submersed. The whole accompanied with a nice bottle of wine . Thank you very much . We shall be back soon."
"Fantastic place! It's just opened and does real authentic Indian food. The restaurant looks great inside, with a very authentic Indian feel. The staff are great, really friendly and were really going out of their way to please. We ordered the Dabeli, and Chaat for starters which were brilliant, cooked well, lots of flavour and as good as I have had in India. For mains we had Chicken Lollipop, which was a really good size portion and tasted amazing. Cooked really well moist and great flavours. We also had the Sali Murgh which genuinely was one of the best curries I have ever had! We had an great time, great food served by great people, what more could you want!"
"We were really excited to try this new restaurant offering Indian street food. It was busy when we arrived and it took a little while to get seated and be given menus but we didn't mind that as it's only been open a couple of days and there are bound to be a few teething problems. When I phoned to book the table I explained that I was vegan and was assured that there were plenty of vegan options. The reason we had to wait for the menu was because they were busy printing off a menu especially for me with vegan dishes clearly marked - I really appreciated that. We ordered pani poori and ragda patice to start. The pani poori was delicious and the pani had a nice kick to it. Unfortunately the ragda patice came with a yoghurt dressing (not mentioned on the menu) so we had to wait a while for the chef to prepare another yoghurt-free version. When it came it was worth the wait! For mains we ordered a masala dosa and a portion of idli with sambar and coconut chutney. The dosa was okay, the potato filling was a bit bland, and I've had better idlis. The sambar and chutney was really tasty but I probably wouldn't order these dishes again. We also ordered a portion of dhal with a couple of rotis. This for me was the stand out dish! Deliciously spiced and smooth dhal with piping hot roti. I'll happily go back and order that again, and try some of the other vegan dishes on the menu. Service was a little slow but the servers & manager were friendly and welcoming. There were a lot of Asian families eating in there and the vibe was really good."
