"REVIEW EDITED IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS FEEDBACK : --------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW : Order of coffee, cake and milkshake took 15 minutes to arrive ( cafe empty ). Coffee barely warm. Milkshake was very poor ( sons review ) Cake OK. Overall not worth the visit. ------------------------------- ADDED FEEDBACK : When I entered the cafe there was no one queuing at the order point and only one person outside sat with a dog - hence my comment about an empty cafe, a customer would not know the cafe has telephone orders and to say 90% (that’s 9 orders) were taken either side of my order inside the cafe seems like a stretch given there was no one queuing up when I entered. You mention you believe in the busy circumstances you think 15 minutes is acceptable to serve 2 coffees, 1 shake and 2 pre-made cakes, what I did not mention is that we had to return to the order point to collect them, as your efficient staff forgot to bring them outside where we were waiting. You mention you have a decent till system, that system failed to tell you that my order was 'takeout' thus your follow up comment of asking that I should have mentioned the issues is invalid, I was already moved on away from the cafe when I discovered the issues. You argue serving barely warm coffee is acceptable and we should have all returned to the cafe to get them warmed up - perhaps just serve coffee at the right temperature to start with, instead of blaming the customer. Thank you for recognising the standard of the shake was poor - although why you were selling them if you know they were poor! Following up on your closing comments, again you mention I needed to have courtesy to mention the issues, again you failed to note this was a takeaway order. You say my review as a local guide could damage your business, the reason I am a local guide is for my honest reviews, this honest feedback is something you clearly are largely unwilling to accept, perhaps serving barely warm coffee, poor milkshakes and average cakes to paying customers is the thing that will damage your business."

"Went in on Sunday 18th September and ordered a sandwich and was told it would be 20 minutes. Well over 30 minutes later my food isn’t even being cooked, so I had to get a refund. They were busy, but the kid serving was all over the shop making a lot of mistakes. Thought I’d give them a second chance so Today, I ordered a large sandwich with well done bacon and sausage. What turned up was not large, but a regular. The Just Eat receipt clearly says large, but it looks like the paper bag they write the order on which the cooks work from made no mention of a large (Unfortunately threw this away before getting a picture), which is where I’m guessing the mistake was made and I assume made by the kid from the week before. Unfortunately, the bacon and sausage was far from being well done. Paid £14 to not get what I ordered at all. I’m giving 2 stars because the delivery was quick, but I’ve been disappointed twice. Happy to revise the review if issues are resolved."

"This little gem is the place to go if your out and about in Stanley or simply want to enjoy a fresh home-baked cake, scone, brownie or sandwich with your cup of tea or fresh ground coffee! Great value, Great Price, Great taste, Relaxed atmosphere and Friendly service. Their newly renovated, indoor seating and dining is open for celebration bookings as well as informal griddle cooked food. Ma B is a "dog friendly" host, welcoming everyone as a friend. Home delivery service is available and their afternoon tea is a must, either in house or delivered to your door. Definitely a place to go back time and again."
