"Nice pub, friendly staff, nice food great selection of beers. Was a slight delay in getting food but worth the wait. Nice big car park too"
"Very hit & miss. Sometimes the food is edible. Sometimes it's actually nice. Last couple of visits the selection was limited due to a lot of items being out of stock. Most recent was terrible. No beef burgers. Options were chicken or veggie version. Didn't even bother to look at the rest of the menu to be honest. Spoke to someone at the bar as I had a reservation (table wasn't even reserved for us) to tell them why I wasn't ordering. Was told there's nothing they can do about it. Well, if there's nothing you can do about customers turning up to spend money and leave without spending a penny because there's limited options, I'm really at a loss to advise."
"The lady who was supposed to seat us was working behind the bar, so waited 10 minutes to be seated! That said….. Once seated, the waitress was really friendly and very attentive… I expected the food to be awful seeing as getting us to our table didn’t seem to be a priority! The food was really, really nice! £14 mixed grill….. You’d expect that to be sub standard but it was really well cooked, steak was cooked perfect medium rare, chicken was juicy with a beautiful chargrilled taste, gammon was juicy, egg yolks a little too cooked for my liking but I really enjoyed the meal (sausages are lovely). The gravy is utterly delicious The barman with long hair and a beard (light coloured beard) was really friendly and good service was received! If this place had a better system for seating people, it would be close to the top of my list for a place to eat! Maybe have a dedicated front of house! The Beefeater is a pub, the harvester is a pub, miller and carter are a pub, they all manage to have a member of staff meet and seat diners on arrival!!!! If you can’t manage this, then you shouldn’t offer table bookings!!! The good food is clearly a reflection on the chef and not the management!!! WILL NOT BE RETURNING"
"Nice layout with a good range of keg & cask ales and food. Called in during a Thursday dinner and was amazed to see the place packed with people having Christmas Dinner and workers having a deserved break. Great atmosphere with staff kept busy serving. Another place definitely worth a visit."
"A lovely, friendly, local pub with a great atmosphere. We meet with family here on a regular basis for a few drinks and a catch up. It's a dog friendly pub which is a great bonus. Our pooch loves coming to the pub after a walk on the hills. She gets to meet up with other pooches...and their humans. Lovely"
