"We are locals who come here once or twice a week. We booked a table for 7pm for 8 people only to be told our table wasn’t reserved. It was a busy night and we had booked a month in advance. One of us went to the bar and enquired about our table one of the girls was happy to clear a table with only 2 people on to accommodate us although we were missing a couple of chairs. Happy with this we were then approached and told by the management if we spoke to a member of staff like that again we’d be barred!!! Very very disappointed by this as we are regulars and spend a lot of money at this pub! We get along very well with the bar staff and other locals and have good fun! So this was a massive shock. The lady who went to the bar did not raise her voice in anyway yet we were threatened to be barred.. very unfortunate as it was our favourite local and we get treated like that… will not be going again after 3 years of loyalty."

"Amazing service from the guys on shift when we called at lunchtime (Sunday 30 October) nothing was too much trouble. My vegan daughter was delighted with her burger meal after receiving an apology for them not having a vegan bun for the burger. She decided to ask for the vegan burger alone with fries etc. It came with a lovely finely shredded side salad and onion rings on top of the burger. They went the extra mile without being asked, to make the meal a lovely experience. 10/10 for this place and the amazing staff."

"The Wharf Tavern is an excellent place to get a nice cold beer from, the staff are really nice and friendly too. I've left 4 stars because we only had a drink and not a meal. The food smelt and looked extremely nice, so we will definitely visit again but next time we'll have a meal (and update accordingly). Thank you..."

"Refurbished and looking good, particularly at the rear where it abuts the canal. One star missing due to indifferent coffee. Dogs welcome but must be on lead. Good food variety in a proper dining room. Worth a visit in conjunction with a canal walk. Towpaths look to be in good condition in both directions."
