"I brought my Thai mum here and I am so glad I did! I could tell it was going to be good just from looking at the menu and photos, but wow, if you want delicious, authentic Thai food, this is the place. There are so many incredible dishes on the menu that you just can’t get in a lot of other Thai restaurants, I can’t wait to come back and try more already! We came pretty early, about 4 o clock, and we were there till 7 because we loved it so much and were chatting away with Chef May. It did start getting pretty busy after 6 though (even on a Wednesday), so I would definitely recommend booking ahead! I find it a bit ridiculous that people are complaining about the issue of the toilet being round the corner, it’s really not far and I noticed that other restaurants and businesses in Deansgate Mews also have their own toilets in the same block. It’s hardly a sacrifice to eat delicious Thai food in a cute, casual setting in my opinion, unless you have mobility issues, but hey, each to their own. I also disagree with the complaints I’ve seen about pricing, considering chef May’s prices are in line with every other Thai restaurant I’ve been to (and I’ve been to many), plus her food is tasty, excellent quality, and are generous portions too. Myself and my mum both got one of our favourite noodle dishes - Kuai Tiew Moo Nam Tok, and the portion was huge! I also highly recommend the tod maan pla (thai fishcakes). Thank you chef May for a lovely visit and for chatting with us, we will be back soon!"
"This extremely authentic family owned Thai restaurant offers the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Chef May was so welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was so cosy that I felt I was in her home being served fresh homemade food. I asked her to change the spiciness level to suit what I can handle and she made it exactly how I love it. I can’t recommend enough! The portions were reasonably sized and the prices were a bargain!"
"Went in for dinner, ordered stir fried prawn spaghetti, it was like stir fried instant noodles, my husband had pad Thai and both dishes were quite small portions. I had Berries soda for drink, which is so tasteless like water with soaking berries. What a disappointment, this restaurant has no toilet, if you need toilet they will give you a code and we have to walk to the toilet nearby, the waiter and a young waitress were friendly while another middle aged waitress I would describe her a bit grumpy when I saw her serving the other table. When we asked for the bill this middle age waitress asked us to wait and she was chatting to her friends, I don’t think it’s professional at all."
"We were looking for some proper Thai food and not the usual chain that the taste is all the same doesn’t matter in which city you go. Siam was perfect, the ambient was formal but authentic, the chef/owner is a really nice woman and you can see that she cooks with her heart. Everything we tried was spot on on we payed £40 so not expensive AT ALL. Please pay Siam a visit if you are looking for some proper Thai food"
"Found this amazing little Thai place on my lunch break and decided to give it a try. I can't remember the name of the dishes but they were both absolutely amazing. I asked for one to be 'very spicy' and it was wonderful, the kind of spicy that really hits the spot and gives the food so much flavour. This was really genuine Thai food, possibly even better than that I've had in Bangkok, and it seems to be a small family operation with lovely owners so I encourage you to go support your local business owners, or give them a visit if you're from out of town. Full stars and plenty of Siam Smiles for me - I'll be back!"
