Reviews
"Went for a meal on a night out and was very impressed with this place. The decor was splendid, the staff extremely friendly, helpful and attentive and the food absolutely outstanding. Had outdoor and indoor seating available, we opted for outdoors due to the weather and it was just like being on holiday, especially with Efe's on draught. Given I work in Stockport and stay there and Manchester quite often, I can definitely see myself heading back here"
"Adana kebab was great, both chilli and tzatziki dips were awesome. Ordered mixed grill, which was expertly cooked, lacked some salt for us but that’s authentic Turkish food. Baklava was soft. Everything was home made and great."
"This new restaurant is definitely a place to visit and enjoy. Food was amazing, cooked to perfection and very tasty. A very relaxed service with great attention from the servers. We sampled the wine which was much better than other restaurant wines, cocktails were great too. Staff were happy, tables were well spaced and the huge windows give a great feeling of open space."
"Appalling service and extremely overpriced. Do not recommend. We were a party of seven visiting for the first time for our friend's birthday (all prebooked and deposits prepaid as requested) but we definitely won't be returning. We were in the restaurant for 3.5 hours in total due to the very long delays in receiving our meals and drinks, so the experience took up the majority of our Saturday night. Service was very poor - staff didn't know what drinks were on tap, many were wandering about aimlessly and one in particular would come over to us then nod when we requested something (e.g. our missing food orders or water for the table) and then just walk off and stand around again, so we'd have to find another member of staff to help us instead (which wasn't much better). After first arriving we waited 30 mins to make our first drinks order (the restaurant wasn't particularly busy) and we requested water 5 times and had to complain before it arrived. My friend ordered a steak with 'peppercorn' sauce (turned out to be more like gravy) which they didn't bother serving with his meal so after chasing repeatedly, it eventually materialised 20 mins later when the food was cold (although we were still charged £3.60 for it) and a couple of fries orders took 30 mins to arrive. Food was fine but there's far better Turkish restaurants in Stockport than Afiyet. I ordered a 'vegan sharing platter' for £21 which was very small and came with 2 pieces of bread, so I had to request more (repeatedly, again). The vegan platter is also labeled as GF, but I'd recommend that anyone with a gluten intolerance should double check before ordering. When we were finally able to request the bill, oddly the server brought two separate bills over (one for cocktails and the other for everything else) without deducting the £45 prepaid deposit, so we had to request a corrected, combined bill instead which again took a very long time. Our total came to £295 and no further deductions were offered to compensate for the terrible service. It definitely wasn't worth the money. An exhausting, disappointing experience overall."
