"Good beer, excellent food and a welcoming atmosphere. The Horseshoe was refurbished recently and they did a really good job on it. Fortunately, they didn't mess with the beer and this remains one of the best pints of Unicorn around. The food here is just fantastic. Massive portions and cooked perfectly. The lava-stone steaks you sort of cook yourself are fab. The half-roast chicken is the biggest pub meal I think I've ever had but then so is everything else. Sharing nachos are also well worth a try. The staff are all very friendly, as are the more colourful locals (you know who you are") . Whether you want a quite drink in the snug, join in the Thursday quiz, Play Your Cards Right or try the meat draw, you'll have a very pleasant evening. If I was to criticise anything, the occasional guest beer runs out far too quickly!"
