"I was really looking forward to trying their food and ordered the vegan ramen on Just Eats app however received ramen with an egg in it which is not vegan. They also marked all dishes on Just Eat website that are vegetarian and the Vegan ramen was not marked so I assumed it was vegan. I requested a refund and was refused. Extremely disappointed and won't go back as they misrepresent dietary requirements"
"Unfortunately terrible experience. Ordered varied pieces of sushi, sashimi and nigiri. The rice in the sushi and nigiri was old and hard - we had to peel off the fish to enjoy what we could. Thankfully the miso soup and sashimi weren’t bad, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for almost £40 spent. Not sure if this is the difference between takeout and in-person dining, but I’d recommend avoiding ordering takeaway unless you make sure the rice and sets were made fresh."
"Extremely fresh food for reasonable prices. It's convenient when you live nearby as it's a small shop with take-away options. As someone who eats a lot of authentic Japanese food, I would describe Taru as more fusion-styled than pure Japanese if that is what you're looking for. But I used to order from this restaurant quite often when I was living nearby because of how consistently fresh the food was. Highly recommend!"
"Though I only had a sashimi combo to go, I enjoyed it very much. The slices were really well prepared and wasabi, ginger were all in it neatly placed. It’s obvious the order was prepared with care. The quality and size were also amazing. Would def. return and explore more dishes. They also have a discount going on right now for orders over £15 which is nice."
"I may be a bit spoiled with having eaten amazing Japanese food but this one didn't make the grade. It was OK for the price, specially with the 15% off for takeaway (we later found out that 25% off on delivery so probably better to do that). We had vegetable spring roles which were average. The sushi was OK but had better in Central London. The ramen wa the better of the bunch but still there is better for around the same price. The seaweed salad was good. It is good if you live in the area and want to pick up/deliver some cheaper Japanese."
