"It feels like it's going downhill a little. They never open more than a couple of tills, which would be fine if they took away some tills and put in more self-service ones but there are only six (three of which don't take cash and two you can't use for the self scanners). The self scanners as well aren't as good as they used to be. They feel like there's been an update and now they're really slow and if you scan two items quickly the second one doesn't register. Also, on a slightly more personal topic, they've removed most of the frozen gluten free section and replaced it with vegan (because they're the same, right!?), but it's okay because now they've put in a fresh(ish) Sushi bar that no-one asked for."
"The store is usually organised and staff on the tills , unfortunately today the delivery was being put out and on a busy Saturday most customers were doing a full weekly shop there was only 2 tills on . After politely asking a manager if they could open more tills , she replied that staff were off with covid and it’s one of those things , however there was staff working on crisps aisle and 3 staff huddled together in the biscuit’s aisle .Poor apathetic attitude off the staff when asked again in the aisles 5 minutes later if they could put extra tills on . Very disappointing service , if you don’t look after customers they will go somewhere else. We drove from Norton to shop today , next time we will drive to Warrington or go to Asda. The manager shouldn’t be making excuses about poor service and telling customers the store is rife with Covid either . More customer service training is needed in this store. Need to start with The Manager first ."
"Queues down each aisle to get to check outs ,4 tillsopen, then 2 closed gates because they were going on breaks, customers were complaining and were told they were short staffed, they have been saying this for months, no managers about to assist, managers need to get out of the office and get on the tills, and this was on a Saturday afternoon, absolutely disgusting service to customers, people were leaving there trolleys and leaving the shop, I had to queque up for self scan,I'm in my 70s and vulnerable, in future I will go to morrisons or sainsburys,at least they treat there customers with respect, if I could give no stars iwould, not really worth writing this because nothing is ever done to improve the situation, and no feed back from the store,"
"Just been to our local Helsby Tesco, as usuual it has the best staff ever, but they are being tortured by the most horrible sound coming from the sound system, I almost walked out because of it. Are these employers not supposed to protect their staff, come on Tesco, please sort this out for your lovely staff. There is a probplem with the electrical system and it keeps shrieking in a high pitched feedback, surely it wouldnt take too much to fix it."
"I use this store a fair amount, only of a evening as I pop in after dropping my mother off at work. While the staff seem polite and friendly I can't say the same for the security guard who stands by the front doors. He always has a grumpy face and will stare at me while I shop (this makes me uncomfortable and is almost intimidating) I often feel I have done something wrong and try my best to get past the area of the shop within his view. Never have I gotten a "hello" "goodbye" or even a smile from him, despite me saying this to him. Other than him all the other staff i have interacted with have been lovely, always happy to help. The store itself is always well stocked, has good offers on, and is clean and tidy. Car park is always clean and the store has two cash machines right by the front doors."
