"On entry the single member of staff looking into a vortex ready to fall in it. The surrounds of glasses hanging around the counter area looking quite filthy not blaming the staff blaming the pot washer that’s probably never been serviced. Seems the girl on the till and vortex couldn’t do anything else apart from wait till staff number two to emerged to operate coffee machine. Lovely counter top made out of kitchen worktop unedged on the left cut with a bread knife (hygiene). A lovely snug coffee shop where people that wish to be from upper mill gather and whisper to each other wearing hunter wellies and Barbour hats. If this establishment is run properly and not left to be run and with a degree of efficiency what a goldmine this would be. Oh when I finally got my coffee it was wonderful."
"Nice relaxing atmosphere but service a little on the slow side. What really disappointed us, I no we are in hard times with the cost of living crisis but the food that we ordered was average/disappointing. A Tuna melt and Bacon, Cranberry & Brie sandwich. You can't really mess up a tuna melt and the sandwich was ok but not much cranberry. What really disappointed us that both sandwiches were supposed to come with coleslaw, crisps and salad. I've never seen such a small amount of coleslaw, barely a heaped teaspoon full served in a little pot usually used for a small amount of ketchup. Salad was 4/5 pieces of green leaf with a little dressing and the crisps consisted of 5/6 nachos but a cheap alternative to the Doritos brand. Nice place but food lacking. People are still paying good money for a lot less food."
"Just stopped for coffee and cakes. Staff excellent. Chocolate shortbread delicious, chocolate orange cake not very orange flavoured and rather stodgy in my opinion. However, staff very happy to receive feedback. Definitely be back. Their own blend coffee was smooth and not bitter, lovely."
"Not great, the table was dirty. The fork and knife were dirty, we also had to request a knife and fork as these were not given with the food. Dogs are welcome, which is not a plus for me, but obviously others may see this as a win. The food was actually really nice but not a nice experience. The cost was above average too so I expected more."
