"First return to this establishment since Covid lockdowns. There certainly have been a few changes. Now your order is taken at the table and food and drink are brought to your table. Drinks: Now half the size glasses for your unlimited refills are provided. In reality most customers may only have one refill (asked once), but when you consider the glasses are half the size anyway ,which in effect means they are making savings in most cases. Burger: Fries are now inclusive with your burger. I selected one of the two available veggie options. No issue with the quality or freshness of the food - all A1. Size matters and in the case of the size of my burger, it has decreased in size / though still there is ample to eat and you should feel satisfied. All organisations are cutting back on the sizing of products, so Handmade Burger Company are just going along with everyone else because whatever possible they are needing to maximise profits to remain in our community. Note: 10% is added to your bill automatically which was NOT highlighted before the bill was generated. Can be removed if you wish. Where good standards of service are provided I always tip, and it would not have been an exception here given a good table service, however it had been added automatically at the rate of inflation! Gratuities should be voluntary. The establishment was clean, and staff approachable and friendly. Would recommend a visit."
"Although it looks good from the outside and projects artisan burger vibes, and I was excited at the prospect of a new burger place to add to my list - the reality is dissapointing. Came here for lunch on a semi busy Saturday - seated quickly and order taken in good time. Sadly, that's about all of the positives. The table itself was slightly sticky and not very well cleaned, and the menu had some visible food stains on. The table next to us had one of the legs bolstered with old napkins to stop it rocking. The plastic leather of seat booth opposite us was torn and flapping at the end. Generally a bit grimy. The burgers themselves look good when described on the menu, but after ordering two burgers and waiting for 30/35 minutes, I can say it wasn't worth the wait. I had a peanut butter and bacon burger, there was a small load of peanut butter in one specific place in the burger. My partner had the Italian, which was haphazardly stacked and the the cheese wasn't even melted. Both buns were cold to the touch. I thought the burgers may redeem it being handmade as they so proudly state on their signage - but they were overcooked (mine was basically black), dry and bland. No juice at all. I didn't finish mine as it was a struggle to eat. We then waited another 15/20 minutes for the staff to come and take our plates - they were happy to welcome in new customers but didn't really seem interested in the existing ones. Often gathering around the till and chatting to each other while people waited awkwardly. I said politely to the waitress that it was overcooked and bland - she was apologetic and said she'd raise it with the chef. She asked if I'd like it comp'd and I replied that it's up to them and they should do whatever they feel is appropriate. The chef took 20% off of our meal - and sent the waitress back to deliver the news. I think two awful burgers is worth more than 20% off - and wouldn't say I felt like a valued customer or that my feedback was heard. At best - this is comparable to a Weatherspoons burger but I've had better from there - and I certainly didn't pay £13 a pop for them. Extra star for having red onion written on the menu in the burgers, often places say onion and they actually use red onion which is irritating - and the chips were alright. For a place that advertises itself as having handmade burgers (it's in the name!), you'd think they would know how to flavour a burger, not overcook it and present it in a reasonable fashion. I even got a beef as I figured it's a safe choice given that chicken is easily dried out. Seemingly not. Wouldn't reccomend nor return."
"Disappointing. You would think that when pretty much all they do is burgers they would be able to cook a good one. It was dry as the desert. Over cooked and toppings were very minimal. Nachos had no cheese just browning guac. Shame. Never would have chosen a chain and should have known better but friends chose it."
"My family came here yesterday and we really enjoyed the food, it was very tasty and fresh. I had the cajun chicken burger and my partner had the pulled pork burger. Our baby tried the chicken breast from my burger and absolutely loved it. The fries were a little bit too greasy for me. Food and drinks were served quite fast so was happy with the overall service. It cost just under £40 for a starter, 2 mains and 3 drinks (2 x lemonades and a dark cherry lemonade). Definitely would have again and would recommend."
"Called in for some food before a film and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I had the pulled pig fries as I can't eat too much anymore and my mate had the 'Pig Daddy'. For something relatively basic my fries were nothing short of amazing. Plenty of flavour and cooked really well. My mate said his was also amazing and it certainly looked like it. I also had their tropical lemonade. The staff were brilliant. Very polite, friendly and helpful. Really looking forward to a return visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"
