Japanese Language and Culture School of Brisbane
● OpenWelcome to the Japanese Language and Culture School of Brisbane (JLCSB), located in Mount Gravatt, Brisbane City, Queensland. Established in 2006 with the support of the Brisbane Japanese community, JLCSB started with 16 students and grew to 31 students the following year. It became the first officially recognized after-hours Japanese ethnic school by the Queensland Education Department. The school was founded to meet the growing need for Japanese language and culture education among children from international marriage families and Japanese permanent residents in Brisbane. JLCSB operates as a parent-centered institution and was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2019. In 2020, the school joined the Ethnic Schools Association of Queensland. We provide a learning environment where students from Grade 1 to high school can study Japanese language and culture.
