Fabric Cafe Bistro
Welcome to Fabric Cafe Bistro, a charming establishment located in the heart of Auckland, New Zealand. Situated on Boundary Road in the beautiful suburb of Hobsonville Point, our cafe is not just a place to grab a bite to eat, but a point of interest that holds a special place in both New Zealand's history and our family's heritage. Fabric was founded and is proudly owned by Luke Shore, a local resident of Hobsonville Point. Luke's deep connection to this site goes beyond being a business owner; it is a personal and familial bond. When signing the lease for The Fabric Building, we discovered that Luke's grandparents, Keith Ivan Sainsbury Shore and Lila Pearl Shore (nee Bobbett), met and served at the Hobsonville Airforce Base during World War II. Keith, an armourer, was stationed in The Armoury Building, which is just a stone's throw away from The Fabric Building. This revelation has made our involvement in this area even more meaningful, as we become part of a new chapter in the history of both New Zealand and our family.
